5 Tip To Prepare Your Vagina For Oral Sex

Oral sex is fun and frequently part of the foreplay, but most women do worry about how they smell or even taste down there. It is not uncommon for a woman to feel self-conscious when a man is about to go down on her especially when it’s an area we don’t really look at ourselves. If you are about to have oral sex and are worried, here are some tips you can follow to prep your vagina for the act.

1 / DO NOT DOUCHE

Our vaginas do a great job keeping themselves clean and PH-balanced therefore most doctors recommend that women do not douche. Douching can change the necessary balance of vaginal flora (bacteria that live in the vagina) and natural acidity in a healthy vagina which can then lead to infection.

2 / CLEAN IT THOROUGHLY

Our outer labias and inner labias have folds and creases where they connect to your vagina and clitories and dead cells and fluids tend to collect there, which creates a sticky white substance that’s responsible for a salty or musty smell or taste.  Therefore, it’s super important to clean it properly and thoroughly to remove any build-up.
We recommend that you use your finger to rub it clean when showering, starting at the top near your clitories then moving your finger all the way down to the sides of your vagina, making sure to get into the fold properly. Repeat on the other side to clean it on both sides of the inner labia.

3 / TRIM YOUR BUSH

Sight is just as important as taste. A bush that’s unruly does not make for a pretty sight, so trim your bushes ladies. Besides, hair traps moisture which creates an environment for bacteria to thrive in and that may cause your vagina to smell too. We recommend that you shave it bare but if that’s not something you prefer, then at least keep the hair trimmed well so your man can actually breathe while down there.

4 / AVOID EATING STRONG SMELLING FOOD

It’s important to note that having some vaginal odor is normal and there’s no way to get it to be completely smell free. That said, avoid strong smelling food such as garlic, durian, asparagus, onions, cabbage or broccoli the day before the act so your fluids won’t smell of them. You may also want to avoid food that causes flatulence as the last thing you want is to hold in the urge to fart or burp while going hard and heavy.

5 / QUICK WIPE BEFORE THE ACT

Sometimes you may not be able to shower right before having sex, if that’s the case, having a quick wipe to clean up would do as well. We do not recommend using scented wipes as the scent could interact with your sweat glands and fluids down there and cause an odor. Either use an antibacterial spray that’s formulated for our private parts, or just clean with water then wipe down with tissues.
